Healthy and Quick Raw Chocolate Shake:

I've been experimenting a lot lately with raw foods, and I came up with this easy chocolate shake. It's surprisingly nutritious, and if you like the taste of good quality real chocolate then it's really good.

-Cup of any kind of nut/seed milk (I used unsweetened almond milk)... you can use regular milk too if you want.
-2Tbs of raw cacao powder
-1Tbs of real maple syrup or honey
-a tiny bit of vanilla
-a few ice cubes

Blend in a blender, and it's done! The whole thing has only 200 calories despite being rich and satisfying. It also has a ton of iron, magnesium, calcium, and some other vitamins and nutrients depending on what sort of milk you use. A single serving of raw cacao powder has more magnesium and iron than a lot of foods (I was surprised how much magnesium it contains)... it also makes you feel good without giving you that jittery caffeine feeling.

Up to 20 minutes, 2 miles on the stationary bike in physical therapy today. Hopefully by next week I'll be able to go for 30 and 3. Been walking around quite a bit on top of that.

I also came across this awesome honey sesame nut mix, which was absolutely delicious until it gave me a relentless stomachache...damn nuts. They were expensive too.

That sounds really delicious shigi, I definitely have to try it some day.

Montezuma's revenge is not something you should strive for...
It's very bad stomach for those of you who don't know.
I got it when I visited Mexico a long time ago ._.

Haha, you know I had no idea that was a euphemism for violent diarrhea until I looked it up! I always thought of it as one of those extreme chocolate dessert names that they have at restaurants like TGIF's

On a completely different note: Origins is doing an Earth Day promotion where you can bring in a bottle of any skincare product from any brand, and they'll trade you (even if it's empty) for a free full-sized bottle of one of their two facial cleansers. I have no idea how well either of them work, but I'm going to go check it out later just for fun. If it's one of those things where the store will be swarming with crazy people, I'll probably just leave, haha... I thought to post this here because I've been making all these dietary changes for skin-related purposes, so it just reminded me. Plus it's free, and that's always cool.

Yeah, I think it's only going on today... the 2 cleansers are "Checks and Balances" (I think I'm gonna try that one if it's not too crowded), and "Perfect World Antioxidant with White Tea" or something like that.

I recently discovered the joys of fresh ravioli. Been eating that for the last few days.

actually went to the campus rec center for the first time. I didn't know the place was so nice. It reminds me of LA fitness except a lot cheaper as a student to take part in. I had already walked a mile before hand but I walked another one on the treadmills (which all have tvs and docks for music on them, something that I found cook, idek).

But I was there to take a group zumba class which was basically 1 hour and 15 minutes of my ass being kickeddancing. The learning curve for all the routines was pretty steep but I felt really good at the end of it.

However, the next day my legs hurt. I just woke up from a nap and my legs are on fire. So I guess it's definitely an incentive to keep at that level.

Ah, Lene you're so lucky! I miss being able to go to a campus fitness center... it was always fun to walk over with friends and check out the free classes. I remember one time this cardio kickboxing class totally kicked our asses, but it felt good, haha. What was Zumba like? There is a place nearby that does Zumba and I've been wanting to check it out, but I wasn't sure what to expect.
